During the ceremony, they also surrendered several firearms and the Morning Star flag that had been in their possession. Lanny Jaya, Papua Highlands — An 18-year-old teenager, Endite Wea, was killed after an explosion believed to have originated from leftover ammunition or explosive materials in a former Tentara Pembebasan Nasional Papua Barat–Organisasi Papua Merdeka (TPNPB-OPM) camp area in Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Highlands. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday (June 7) while the victim and several residents were searching for wild coconuts near the site. According to security officials, the explosion took place in an area previously identified as a former TPNPB-OPM Kodap XII/Lanny Jaya base led by Purom Okiman Wenda. Preliminary findings indicate that the blast may have been caused by abandoned ammunition or explosive materials left behind in the area. Based on preliminary findings, authorities suspect that the attack was carried out by individuals believed to be sympathizers of the Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM). The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, resulted in the destruction of two school buildings, including nine classrooms and various educational facilities.
