Tembagapura, Central Papua — A young girl was killed in a shooting carried out by the Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM) in the Tembagapura area of Central Papua. The incident occurred amid ongoing security concerns in several regions across Papua.

The tragedy has caused deep sorrow among the victim’s family and the local community. Security authorities stated that the shooting once again demonstrated how security disturbances in Papua can directly affect civilians, including women and children.

Following the incident, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) immediately launched operations to pursue those responsible for the shooting. Security personnel also increased protection and monitoring in several areas of Tembagapura to prevent further security disruptions.

TNI Strengthens Security Measures in Tembagapura
